Dairy Effluent Testimonials

Jenny Buckley and Dave van den Beuken

"We are 50/50 Sharemilking in Tauwhare, Cambridge milking 550 cows on 170ha.
Our farm owners Trish and Paul Jones employed the services of AgFirst Engineering Geoff Neilson from the Te Puke branch to construct a weeping wall system and a 50m x 50m x 3m lined effluent pond, extending our existing effluent area from 20 ha to 50ha.

We found Geoff to be a great communicator, keeping us in the loop with the different stages of the build. He managed the various contractors exceptionally well so that there was minimal impact on our daily routine.

The system has been running now for 3 years and it has exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with how the system performs."

Farm Water Reticulation Testimonials

Fraser Haywood, Land Development Manager - Landcorp

"For the past 8 years AgFirst Engineering has been instrumental in the design, project management and build of the Landcorp, Wairakei Estate macro, stock water reticulation and surface water take requirements.

Responsible for all design work, supply of materials, specialist onsite supervision and technical advice in this unique forest to farm conversion project has seen AgFirst Engineering successfully manage the supply of stock water reticulation to in excess of 10,000 ha. The challenging nature of working in an ex. forestry environment, with development staged over several years is where we rely hugely on the expertise of the design and engineering team.

All farm designs are comprehensive and detailed ensuring that we are receiving the best value for money while minimising any future redundancies. Project management works associated with water intake installations are always within consent conditions with an excellent health and safety reputation.

With adequate water supply fundamental to the success of a livestock farming operation, AgFirst Engineering have always delivered above and beyond our expectations. I would rate the technical advice, experience of the team and quality and workmanship of the finished product as the best around."

Irrigation Testimonials

"Craig Bishop from AgFirst Engineering has been our frost protection/irrigation consultant & project manager for over 10 years.

Thanks to Craig we have been able to successfully upgrade our old irrigation system (originally setup for summer irrigation) to an excellent computer controlled frost & irrigation system using sprinklers, to nearly 50 ha of kiwifruit orchard. The upgrade was staged (due to Psa), and has been quite complex as all our water comes from bores and a considerable quantity of water had to be stored in ponds. Craig was very much the project manager, managing every aspect of the work including the design, the consenting, ordering all the materials and organising the contractors, allowing me to concentrate on managing the orchard. If you want a person who can do all these things really well then I highly recommend Craig Bishop."
