• Nick Briant

  • Nick grew up on a Gisborne cropping farm. He joined AgFirst Engineering in 2004. From 2013 he worked part time as a Water Engineer while pursuing a professional rugby refereeing career in both international 7s and 15s. In 2020 Nick came back to the Team full time and then became a Director in 2023 and leads the BOP team.

    Nick has built extensive experience over 20 years as a Water Engineer, particularly with water schemes, dairy effluent, stock water and land drainage. He is a solutions focussed innovator and problem solver, always striving to find a better way and deliver the best possible outcome for our clients.

  • Matt Horn

  • Matt has an Applied Science degree from Massy University. Matt has extensive knowledge in irrigation design, sales and project management in the horticultural and agricultural sector, water metering, and telemetry. For a number of years Matt was the irrigation sector judge for the Young Viticulturist Of The Year competition at regional and national levels, and was also a judge for the Balance Farm Environmental Awards for the East Coast area.

  • Scott McKenzie

  • After 20 years with the RNZAF as an Aircraft Engineer, Flight Engineer and a Officer trainer Scott gained extensive knowledge on aircraft systems and management practices. He studied and gained Diplomas in Business Studies, Management, HR and Small Business Management. As a civilian Scott managed a concrete placing company and one of New Zealand’s leading heavy transport manufacturing companies before joining AgFirst Engineering in 2014 as an Environmental Consultant, designing dairy effluent processing and irrigation systems. Scott also managers our fabrication and installation company Propipe Irrigation Ltd.
